DESCRIPTION
Quick and flaky 30-minute Apple Pie Parcels made with puff pastry and fresh apples. Soft, warm, golden, and perfect for breakfast or dessert. Easy, delicious, and kid-friendly.
INGREDIENTS
For the Filling
- 1 large apple (about 11 oz / 320 g), peeled, cored, and cut into 16 slices
- 2½ tablespoons superfine sugar
- 1 teaspoon water
- Optional: ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (extra flavor & aroma)

For the Pastry
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- Optional: 1 beaten egg (for golden glaze)
- Extra sugar for sprinkling

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat to 400°F / 200°C (180°C fan) or Gas Mark 6.
2. Cook the Apple Filling
• Add the sliced apple and 1 teaspoon water to a small saucepan.
• Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, until softened.
• Remove from heat, stir in the sugar (and cinnamon if using), and let cool completely.
3. Prepare the Puff Pastry
• Unroll the puff pastry onto a clean, flat surface.
• Gently roll it into a rectangle.
• With a long edge facing you, cut the sheet in half horizontally.
• Then cut vertically to create 6 equal squares.
4. Fill & Seal the Parcels
• Brush the edges of 3 squares with a little water.
• Spoon one-third of the cooled apple mixture into the center of each.
• Top with the remaining squares.
• Seal edges firmly using the back of a fork.
• Make 3 small slits on top of each parcel to allow steam to escape.
• Optional: Brush tops with beaten egg for shine, then sprinkle with sugar.
5. Bake
• Transfer to a parchment-lined sheet pan or nonstick cookie sheet.
• Bake for 15–20 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
• Cool for 5 minutes before eating — the apple filling will be very hot.
6. Storage
• Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
• Reheat at 300°F (150°C) for 5 minutes to restore crispiness.
